Senior Financial Analyst - Logistics and Warehouse
Summary:
Our client is a global wine making and distribution business that is in rapid growth mode.
As part of their strategic growth plans, we are looking to place a Senior Financial Analyst who will have responsibilities that include but will not be limited to:
- Work with the business to ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place that supports the completeness/accuracy/relevance & timeliness of logistics & RSS overheads information to accurately measure the cost.
- Review & processing of financial transactions ensuring integrity of P&L and Balance Sheet
- Deliver timely and accurate logistics reporting to be used by senior management that measures the performance of various logistic activities in the Supply Chain Network
- Prepare and continuously improve the Budget, Forecast and Strat Plan processes and tools and the resulting reporting packs for these submissions for RSS management
- Analyze logistics & warehouse cost drivers to identify current and emerging risks and opportunities, environmental impacts and provide appropriate recommendations
- Partner with RSS and other business partners to support analysis of cost, value and service
- Proactively participate in RSS management team meetings and planning sessions, providing input, direction and challenge
- Accumulation and modeling of baseline data for network and service modeling which drives continuous improvement opportunities and reporting
- Provide business case justification for capital expenditure justifications for logistics and warehouse
- Develop recovery/absorption rates for standard cost setting and assist in system rates rollover, specifically but not limited to (and subject to global costing methodology alignment) RSS overhead rates, warehouse rates based on inventory turnover, production freight and import landed costs, including loading rates into ERP system. Budgeting rates and total spend for distributor freight
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Practice the concepts of continuous process improvement
- Accept coaching and direction from manager. Solicit and act on feedback from manager, peers, and partners
- Understand and demonstrate company culture, behaviors and ways of working
- Undertake organization training and development as required
The Key Challenges faced in this role are:
- To fully understand the broad range of activities (cost, value and service drivers) across Logistics & Warehouse infrastructure and networks in US and Canada
- To consolidate data from multiple systems into Excel reporting models, both operational (mainly volume-related) and financial: Bulk wine (WIM), Sales and production (JDE/TBI/Cognos)
- To ensure timely, accurate, meaningful analysis of financial and non-financial data associated with business decisions
- Aid in development of consistent processes, metrics and management tools across the Logistics network, with a global application
- Maintaining and managing relationships across key stakeholders - Site Logistics, Supply Finance, Commercial Finance, Sales, Planning and Supply Partners
Successful candidates will have the following experience:
- Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
- Commercial experience in a Logistic industry preferred
- Proven analytical experience to drive decisions & beneficial outcomes
- Mature interpersonal, influencing, oral, written and problem solving skills a necessity
- Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a multi task environment
- Strong work ethic
