Senior Tax Accountant
CPA firm seeks a Senior Tax Accountant
We seek a self-motivated professional with a genuine desire to embrace this challenging career opportunity to work in a team-oriented environment while taking on a variety of assignments. This individual will be responsible for performing complex tax preparation, tax research and tax planning with minimal supervision. This position also provides work direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff. The senior tax accountant contacts clients to resolve minor tax matters. This role performs tax planning under direct supervision and may be assigned tax in-charge responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
Prepares complex tax returns, tax projections, and tax research.
Reviews tax work of less experienced staff.
Trains, mentors and provides work direction to staff.
Reviews tax information supplied by client; may meet with or call client with questions.
Recognizes, anticipates and resolves tax issues; makes recommendations.
Markets firm services to existing and prospective clients.
Meets productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours).
Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years public accounting experience
Bachelor's degree with a focus in accounting
CPA license
Proven senior accounting experience
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year close process
Accuracy and attention to detail
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written,
Advanced experience in basic technology skills, PC usage, Word, Excel, Prosystem fx Global Tax, Engagement, QuickBooks, Document
