Position Purpose:
Assist with the preparation of state income, local income, and franchise tax returns, including estimated tax payments and extension calculations.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 2+ years of accounting experience in public accounting or healthcare industry. Tax experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word applications. Experience with PeopleSoft, Checkpoint, and OneSource Tax Provision preferred.
License/Certification:
CPA preferred.

Job Description
Tax Accountant (State & Local)
Position Purpose:
Assist with the preparation of state income, local income, and franchise tax returns, including estimated tax payments and extension calculations.

Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual ASC 740 using OneSource Tax Provision and SSAP 101 tax provision calculations
Maintain tax provision calculations in OneSource Tax Provision

Prepare state tax returns, supporting schedules, and state tax provision workpapers

Calculate state estimated tax payments and extension payments

Respond to state tax notices

Defend against state tax audits

Model state tax results

Research state tax laws and apply them to facts

Gather state apportionment data and import it into state tax apportionment software

Gather and format data for state and local incentives compliance

Prepare tax returns for cities

Update net operating loss carryover schedules
Assist with tax planning and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
