Director, Technical Accounting
Position Purpose:
Analyze new accounting literature and SEC guidance, evaluate the impact, and develop action plan for implementation.
Oversee the implementation of the new requirements across the business.
Draft technical accounting exposure draft responses.
Document and maintain internal accounting policies and ensure compliance with existing accounting literature, including integration of policies of recently acquired entities.
Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel and internal accounting staff to ensure GAAP & SEC compliance with regards to all external financial reporting and ensure all SEC filings are completed accurately within deadlines
Develop and coordinate an internal technical accounting training program.
Qualifications:
Research technical accounting literature and provide white paper recommendations for implementation. Review accounting policies for compliance with current literature, including integration of policies of recently acquired entities.
Experience/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 7+ years of public accounting or public company accounting experience, including 5+ years of technical accounting experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
CPA license.
